I was not expecting any of this and I was not hoping to be having some fantastic luck of cherishing every one of these books right now!
This was amazing. I actually felt like I needed to peruse faster to coordinate the pace of the verse since I was frightened it would sneak off from me.
Xiomara is a 15-year-old young lady simply attempting to get her crap together. She processes everything through verse – it’s a lovely point of view on the world.
She questions everything, from young men to chapel to bologna unpleasant men hitting on a minor.
Peruse this book. It’s wonderful.
This book was incredible. It’s written in stanzas and I cherished the way that Xiomara, the hero, likewise composes sonnets. I had never perused a book about pummel verse despite the fact that it’s something I really appreciate without a doubt, I think it was all done.
This book handles some significant issues, similar to acknowledgment, moderate convictions, generalizations and growing up as a young lady. Everything had its ideal spot in the book and everything felt right and incredibly practical, particularly when she discussed men heckling her. This one is, sadly, a reality that a ton of ladies know about and I preferred how she attempted to battle back and represented herself.
The relationship Xiomara has with her folks certainly changes all through the book. Her mom profoundly trusts in God and has moderate convictions that keep Xiomara from doing things she needs to do and that are totally fine. She gets rebuffed for investigating outside the standards her folks have set up for her and her twin sibling Xavier. The disciplines were certainly the hardest parts to peruse, I profoundly felt for Xiao. It was so wonderful to see her express her emotions through lyrics.
I exceptionally suggest this book!
What a powerful book! I listened to the audiobook and I don’t think I would have loved it as much had I read it, but Elizabeth narrated it. It was absolutely phenomenal as a spoken word poetry/story. The scene with her mother and her notebook had me in actual tears-it was the hardest thing I’ve listened to in a long time. I’m so happy that I picked this up for ContemporaryAThon/BlackAThon and finally fell in love with those the way so many before me have.
